Suishouban (随申办) — what it is

Shanghai's official government-services app. One login, and you can book hospitals, check insurance, apply for certificates, and skip the queues that locals also hate.

Suishouban (随申办, "easy to handle") is the Shanghai government's official digital services platform — an app, WeChat mini-program, and web service that bundles public services into one place. If there's a Shanghai government counter, the odds are good Suishouban can do it online.

What matters for foreigners:

  • Hospital booking (挂号) at public 3A hospitals — the #1 reason to install it (see the hospitals guide).
  • Medical insurance records — check what your employer enrolled you in (social insurance).
  • Police registration online in some districts (see registration).
  • Certificates & proofs — electronic versions of common documents, and applications with status tracking.
  • Utilities, driving points, tax records and more.

Foreigners register with a Chinese phone number and a passport through real-name verification; a one-time in-person check at a community service center may be needed for some features. The interface is Chinese-first, with limited English — see the full guide for setup and workarounds.
